In the latest episode of Dear, the Apple TV+ series Dear, Selena Gomez spoke out about her fight with Lupus. The pop star was diagnosed with Lupus in 2014 and was given warnings about strokes and the side consequences of fluctuating weight due to the drug. She stated, "So hearing from a doctor that 'You could've suffered a stroke while performing or even passed away' was quite a bit.
However, I didn't let it sink in. I was not ready to take it in." Gomez added that she was subject to bullying for her weight gain, which is caused by lupus. Although she appeared to put on her best the performer admitted that her negative attitude was affecting her.

Selena Gomez was diagnosed with this autoimmune disorder in 2014.
In 2017 Selena posted an Instagram story in which she shared her story of receiving an organ transplant from her close acquaintance Francia Raisa and recovering from it.
In an interview on the Apple TV+ show Dear, Selena Gomez also said she was forever grateful to her friend Francia Raisa who donated a kidney. The Wolves singer also said that the notion of someone not doubting that they are a donor was incredibly exhilarating'.
